INTERCITY XPRESS BUS TICKETS CANCELLATIONS OR REFUNDS

Be aware that cancellations rules can be applied differently in each case. 

Tickets that are cancelled will be refunded into a banking account within 15 working days.

But this must be requested at least 6 hours before departure. 

Tickets that are cancelled and need to be refunded are subject to a 20% cancellation fee.

Cancellation requested after the departure time will be refunded only if the reason is death or hospitalisation of the passenger. 

In this case is necessary to pay a 20% cancellation fee.

An alternative booking (the rebooking) may be done for the next available seat on the same route.

But it is necessary to cancel the initial ticket at least 3 hours before the departure time.

Passengers can be paid a 20% rebooking fee.

No more than one rebooking will be allowed per ticket issued. 

Any increase in the bus ticket price will be for the account of the passenger, payable immediately on making the rebooking.

Rebooked tickets cannot be refunded.

If a passenger misses the bus, no refund will be granted.

All deals and discounts can change according to current season.

Know that in peak season the tickets discounts are smaller than in off-peak season.

Pensioner's

At middle of Peak season: All pensioners can get 5% off in their bus ticket.

Off Peak season: All pensioners can get 10% off in their purchased.

To get this deal the passenger must present a Pensioner's card and ID.

Children Free Bus Tickets

Children younger than 4 (four years old) can travel for free, but cannot occupy a seat. 

At Peak Season: Children between 4 and 11 years old can get 15% off on a ticket.

Off Peak Season: All children between 4 and 11 years old can enjoy a 20% off.

SANDF and SAPS Discount

Travellers that are members of SANDF ( Defence Intelligence pision) and/or SAPS ( South African Police Service) can get discounts on bus tickets.

At Peak Season: All members can get 5% off in their bus tickets.

Off Peak Periods: All members can get 10% off in their tickets.

It's necessary to show a valid Force Card or ID when booking the ticket and when boarding the bus.

Students Discounts

All South African students can get a discount on their bus ticket.

At Peak Season: They can enjoy 5% off on their bus ticket.

Off Peak Period: All students can get 10% off on bus travel ticket.

But it is necessary to show the student card on booking and boarding on the bus.

Group Booking

It is possible to get this group discount if there are 10 or more passengers to travel on the same route during off-peak season.

Mahala Travelers Loyalty Program

All travellers have another option to get discounts.

It is by the Mahala Travelers Club. 

Each passenger who travels 10 times during a one year (twelve months) will get 50% off on their next bus ticket.

INTERCITY XPRESS LUGGAGE RULES

Passengers who wants to get more detailed information about Intercity Xpress luggage rules, should get directly in contact with customer service.

Here some information about what's permitted:

Passenger's luggage cannot exceed 20 kilogrammes in weight or 80x60x60cm in size.

In a case of cross-border services, it is allowed a luggage with 30 kilogrammes.

Eagle Liner reserves the right to refuse carriage of any item or luggage, which does not follow these conditions.

No bicycles, electronic equipment, fishing rods, surfboards, abnormal boxes or perishables will be carried, unless prior arrangement is made with an Eagle Liner Supervisor.

Additional charge may be applied as per pre-determined tariffs for excess luggage.

Intercity does not allow pets inside the bus, except trained guide dog guiding a visually blind person.

IMPORTANT TIPS 

Any children under 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Documents Required for your Bus Travel

Travellers must guarantee that they are in ownership of valid travel documents. 

If the bus travel is in South Africa territory and the passenger is south African, it is necessary to carry a valid I.D.

In a case of foreign passengers, the passenger must have a valid passport and the required visas to all journeys. 

Boarding on Intercity Xpress Buses

We recommend that you arrive at the boarding point about 30 minutes in advance from the scheduled departure time. 

It may take some minutes to dispatch luggage and finish all boarding process.

Be aware that any seat not filled within 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, will be offered to other standby passengers.
